All loops on this site may be used on a royalty-free basis to create your original soundtracks for film, video, audio works, songs, beats, etc. You may distribute your soundtracks, leases, and exclusives online that use loops by MG; however, individual loops may not be commercially or distributed on a standalone basis, nor may they be repackaged in whole or in part as your own loops, audio samples, sound libraries, sound effects, or similar assets.

exclusive rights beat contracT

An exclusive rights contract for beats is a formal agreement between a composer/producer and an artist/label, granting the artist exclusive use of the beat without distribution limits. This exclusivity prohibits the producer from selling the beat to others, including for beat leasing. The agreement TYPICALLY remains in effect indefinitely once established.

Standard Exclusive Beat Contract Inclusions

Master Use

Specifies how the artist can use the instrumental to create and release a song, known as the “Master Recording.” This section also includes a guarantee that the producer will not sell the beat to anyone else.

Payment/Compensation

Outlines the total cost for exclusive rights to the instrumental. It also includes a clause allowing the producer (Licensor) to terminate the license if payment is not made in full or on time, with prior written notice.

Performance Rights

Grants the artist exclusive rights to use the Master Recording in unlimited for-profit performances.

Mechanical Rights

Gives the artist (Licensee) the right to use the instrumental to create a Master Recording, and to reproduce, distribute, and sell unlimited copies.

Broadcast Rights

Provides the artist with exclusive rights to broadcast the Master Recording on unlimited radio stations.

Synchronization Rights

Sync Rights refer to using the Master Recording with film, video, video games, or other media. This typically requires a separate contract with the film company. However, a non-exclusive license allows the artist to use the Master Recording in unlimited video projects.

Credit

Ensures proper credit is given to the producer, specifying how to acknowledge them either in writing or verbally.

Sampling

Addresses whether any samples used in the instrumental are cleared, and who is responsible for clearing them.

Governing Law

Indicates the state or province governing the contract.

Publishing & Royalties

Explains the publishing and royalty splits, often 50/50 between the producer and songwriter, covering the producer’s share from the instrumental and the artist’s share from the lyrics.

Signature

Requires signatures from both parties, either electronically or physically, and advises keeping a copy of the contract for records.
