" A Colorful Slap In The Face" as reviewed by ICN Radio host Chiara Macinai whose program "Chiaramente" airs every Saturday from 5pm to 6pm. And if you don't speak Italian, scroll down to read the English translation! Thanks, Chiara!
A Grace of Colors
Faces defined by the softness of colors, the portraits of Maria Grazia Facciola are a journey through tones of vibrant colors. The women she presents to us are fascinations of her memory, some inspired by her photographic works, others created by her own imagination. Faces which depict friends or personages of the music world own the central motif of the portrait. The red lips, half-closed in a restrained smile, reveal a certain demeanor, a shy elegance. The long necks, echoing the art of the Italian artist from Livorno Amedeo Modigliani, confer on the canvas a theme of verticality, a dynamic agility of forms. The choice of pastel colors reveals the spontaneity of a new Naif painting expression.
